Perspective Art

Schweizer Schützenmuseum
Seen through the photographer's lens, the weapon becomes a motif in art photography. Without sumptuous staging, various characterized photographs were created, which by their simplicity, have the distinction of highlighting the specificity of the object. The result is an exciting series of art photographs that open up a new perspective. Thus, the weapons themselves, juxtaposed with the photographs of the exhibition, can be seen from a different angle.

Führung hinter die Kulissen - Leitfossilien

Naturhistorisches Museum
The age of rocks can be determined in different ways. For example, the absolute age of volcanic ash trapped in rock strata can be determined using the radiometric method. It is different with the age of fossils: here "only" a relative age can be derived.

Our paleontologist Ursula Menkveld introduces the different dating methods and explains which guiding fossils are used for which time period. She lets the guests lend a hand: microscopic guide fossils such as Conodonts and mammalian teeth can be viewed under the stereo magnifier. On the final detour into the earth science collection, Menkveld shows various macro-guide fossils, including trilobites, ammonites and plants.

Brauen im Museum

Museum für Kommunikation
Whether chatting with colleagues over a cozy "Fyrabebier", exchanging the latest gossip with the latest craft beer discovery in the men's or women's group, or politicizing with a bar at the regulars' table - beer and communication simply belong together!

It is therefore no coincidence that Alex Chevalley, founder of the BrauKunst brewery in Bern, unpacks his brewing equipment in front of the Museum of Communication and shows his apprentices how beer is made with their own hands. He tells the story of the beer, explains the background and teaches what is important in production when brewing together. Here you can stir, pound and of course always taste.

While the brew is simmering for an hour, you can take a tour of the Museum of Communication, where the participants learn all sorts of interesting, astonishing and entertaining facts about beer. Why did the PTT chauffeurs get coupons for milk in the past? And what role did beer play in this? Or how do beer drinkers prevent beer from running out?

This event is organized by Bern Welcome.
